Radisson Hotel South, Minnesota?
This is another question for Jim. Do you know anything about the Radisson Hotel South & Plaza Tower? I received some information on this hotel and it looks very nice. I guess my question is, is it more of a business place? Also I checked on the Embassy Suites at the address you gave me and they sent me info on the other one and it had the garden atrium. I guess I am confused on which one is nicer. I hope I'm not being too dumb. Thanks again!

Radisson South is just a run of the mill business hotel. Nothing special. Not a 'getaway' type place IMO. The ES in Bloomington is not as nice as the one by the MOA. Depends on what you consider 'nice', but I'm not impressed by ANY of the hotels in Minneapolis as being really nice, like the kind of places you'd want to splurge on for a nice weekend away. MPLS just doesn't have a great hotel.

Hi!

The Radisson South Plaza and Tower I have been to before and it is a nice hotel. Obviously some business travelers will be found there although there is still room for families and other travelers. They have a indoor pool and whirlpool in a garden court type area. However, it is located farther away from the Mall of America than compared to the Embassy Suites. The Embassy Suites Mall Of America (MSP Airport), which is the address I have posted early is again a great hotel. Here is some additional links on hotels that you might find of help:

*Embassy Suites MSP Airport South (Mall of America):

http://home.digitalcity.com/twinciti....dci?vid=20861

http://twincities.citysearch.com/profile/5599783/

*Radisson South Plaza and Tower:

http://twincities.citysearch.com/profile/5614176/

*Homewood Suites Mall of America (Located within walking distance easily to Mall of America)

http://homewoodminneapolis.citysearch.com/

*Hilton Minneapolis Airport

http://twincities.citysearch.com/profile/5599784/

http://hiltonairport.citysearch.com/

*Country Inn Mall of America (Located right across almost from Homewood Suites)

http://twincities.citysearch.com/profile/5599638/

http://countryinnmoa.citysearch.com/

*Courtyard by Marriott Mall of America

http://courtyardmoa.citysearch.com/

I hope this is of some help! I listed a few more hotels and sites that you might want to look at. Again, I drive by the Mall of America and all the hotels listed very often so any questions please post them!

We have stayed at the Radisson South and it is a nice hotel. They will take you to the Mall of America if you want to go there. We have also stayed at the Hotel Sofitel and liked that very much and loved the food in their restaurants. Other hotels in that area are Wyndham Gardens and of course the Embassy Suites and Hilton and Doubletree near Mall of America. They are all nice and all have airport and MOA service. No, they aren't the Ritz Carlton but I must say I have had better service and friendliness at these hotels than I have at two different Ritz Carltons and one 4 Seasons.

I've stayed at the Radisson South on several occasions. I do a lot of business travel and generally find the Radisson chain of hotels to be marginal in quality as compared to Marriott, Hyatt, Westin, etc. In this case, however, the Radisson South is a very respectable business/convention hotel. This hotel has been around for 25-30 years, however the property has seen several major facelifts over the years. The lobby area, bars, restaurants area all very nice and the hotel also has a very nice indoor pool and large whirlpool. The guest rooms, while not luxurious, are pleasant and nicely appointed. I would certainly give you my thumbs up on this property. No, it's not the Four Seasons, but for modestly discriminating taste, it's perfectly acceptable. The fact the Radisson company is based in the Twin Cities keeps the quality level higher for this location, as well as their location in downtown Minneapolis, which is also very nice.
