Radio City restaurants
 

One-day trip to NYC to see show at Radio City -- need restaurant recommendation for lunch in vicinity after show - don't have a real lot of time to spend looking for restaurant so we can walk around the City before leaving at 5:30p.m....

Here's a sort of off beat idea: the 21 Club. It's such a fun old famous place, you make reservations and eat in the "saloon" with all the toys and paraphanelia hanging from the ceiling. They will bring you a menu that is outrageously priced. But ask for the 21 special menu. They will then bring you a menu of several options for 3 course lunches all for $21. We had a wonderful salad, grilled salmon with vegetable and a creme brulee. Or you might choose a soup, the famous 21 burger with fries, and a chocolate mousse. Obviously the menu changes. It is a fun way to experience what some may now call "touristy" but we found the bulk of the clientele to be local business people, and we really had an excellent lunch. Men must wear a tie however!<BR>Another interesting option is the very inexpensive but delicious Indian buffet lunch at Utsav, 47th between 6th and 7th.<BR>Or a noisy option, The Heartland Brewery right by Radio City -- wonderful buffalo burgers, chili, and superb micro brews.

Hi JoJo:<BR>There is a restaurant right across the street from Radio City called Chez Louis. Whenever I go to Radio City, I always eat there. The food and service is very good and the prices are very reasonable.<BR>Have fun and thanks for coming to NYC!

Chez Louis has really good roast chicken & potatoes French style. Mmmm. Also Citarella, my fish store, opened a new restaurant at the old Hurley's spot - on Sixth Ave & 49th St. I think it's expensive but their pastry chef has gotten a lot of press - their vanilla cake is supposedly out of this world.

I had a very nice lunch at Medi in Rockefeller Center about a month ago, although sitting on the outdoor pation and people-watching was part of the fun. It's casual Italian/Mediterranean.
