Quiet hotel in Ft. Lauderdale over spring break
Anyone know of a moderately priced hotel in Ft. Lauderdale that's quiet. Will fly into F.L. at night, stay for one night then drive down to the Keys. Don't want to stay at a hotel that caters to spring break crowd. We won't really be using the facilities much since we're leaving in the morning so don't want to spend a lot of money.

My recommendation would be to stay at the very old, but redone Riverside Hotel right on Las Olas, the nice shopping and dining street. Their toll free number is 1-800-325-3280. You'd have the benefit of stretching your legs by walking the street and if you want to splurge a little for dinner go to Mark's Las Olas, my favorite restaurant in Florida!

Didn't they kick the students out of Ft. Lauderdale? Or did they come back? If you want inexpensive drive up A1A to Lauderdale by the Sea or Pompano Beach.

Probably a little expensive for just overnight but a lovely hotel would be the Lago Mar. They have hotel room for $120 and don't think any springbreakers are gonna stay here. www.lagomar.com

We stayed at the Lago Mar one year before we drove to Key West. It was very nice and on the beach. As I recall, not alot of the hotel in FTL are directly on the beach but the Lago Mar is.

However Lago Mar is much more than $120/night over Spring Break contrary to previous poster's (Katrina) info.
