Quick weekend trip, where to go?

I'm trying to decide between two totally different options for a weekend trip in November. One option is Washington DC staying at the Park Hyatt and going to the Metropolitan Food Show, the other choice is the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michael's, MD. These are both upscale properties that I would normally not splurge for but I'm able to get a really good deal so I figured I'd live the good life for a weekend. Any opinions?

I think it depends on what atmosphere you are looking for. St. Michaels is very beautiful, but very quiet and relaxed. There are small shops you can go to and a few seafood restaurants. They also have a winery. DC is totally different. Its fast paced with tons of restaurants and bars and people.

If you want to get around DC, the best way to do that is by using their Capital Bikeshare program. You can cycle around town if you want to. There are tons of things to do in DC. Try asking a local for help.

Hope that neither of them is damaged by Sandy. Don't deposit until you know what happens.

I'd vote for DC.

That's assuming nothing awful happens with Sandy

I love the Eastern Shore and St. Michael's so that would be my pick and eat your fill of fresh oysters!

I'm crossing my fingers that nothing bad would happen because of Sandy.
