Quick trip to Cincy - need Priceline area advice and restaurant tips
 

A friend and I are going to Cincinnati to see Jersey Boys - the show is Thursday at 1 pm and at the Aranoff Theater. We will arrive on Wednesday around 1:30 or so - would like to visit the Underground Railroad Museum and then possibly Cincinnati Art Museum since they are open until Wednesday night.

So which Priceline area should we use. Since the show does not start until 1 pm - it would be nice to be in an area with a little shopping.,

Any lunch recommendations near the theater?

What type of food do you like for lunch?

I'd recommend Nada restaurant (upscale Mexican). Or Via Vite (Italian).

A couple of other restaurants within walking distance I can think of - McCormick and Schmicks at the Westin Hotel, Palomino.

There's a Graeter's ice cream on Fountain Square also. Don't miss it!

I can't help you with Priceline but I would stay in the downtown area for your purposes -- around 5th and 6th streets. There is shopping all around there, including Tiffany's and Saks. You can walk to the Underground Railroad Museum and the Aronoff.

There are many places to eat around Fountain Square and the Aronoff. I would probably pick Jean Ro's Bistro or Nicholsons.

There is also an Oceannaire that I think is open now and Rock Bottom Brewery is on Fountain Square.

As far as the Art Museum, you would have to drive there and if you want to eat or stop for a drink, Mt. Adams is right next to it.

Also, First Watch is a great place for breakfast (actually they do lunch also). And, as mentioned above, be sure and save room for Graeter's ice cream. Any chocolate chip flavor is my favorite.

We're going to the show Thursday night. Saw it in Chicago and loved it -- will be interesting to see with a different cast.

I'm pretty sure there is no Graeters at Fountain Square (there is one at Hyde Park Square).

I wouldn't go to Palomino's or McCormick and Schmicks - they are both decent but are chains.

Any of Jean Robert's restaurants are a good choice, as is Boca in the Hyde Park area.

I'm not sure what "areas" Priceline offers. If you let us know your options that would help. If you have a car, the KY side of the river is nice since you get a view of Cincinnati. Otherwise I would say you want to stay in the heart of downtown (versus Clifton or Hyde Park) to be close to Aranoff.

Just got some Graeters at Fountain Square when staying at the Westin there a few weeks ago.

BTW, if you do make it to Nada, their grapefruit sorbet margaritas are really good.
