Quick NYC Trip Report
Some quick thoughts and thanks for the tips. Arrived on Wednesday left on Sunday. Stayed at the Edison Hotel great price and location. Small "older" rooms but stayable. No charge for bringing up a frig for my wife's medicine. A very small piano bar in the Rum Room. Sofia's restaurant decent food and not expensive, small drinks and expensive. Sofia's also had a piano and bass player...very relaxing. Edison had a diner like restaurant as well. Overall, a good experience.
Jersey Boys and Moma Mia fantastic see them both if you can. Dail 7 Limo service took us both ways. No waiting minutes charge. Took a 3 hour cruise would have been satisfied with the 2 hour. Thank you to whoever suggested walking the Brooklyn Bridge starting on the Brooklyn side. It was a very different experience. Also, going to the Top Of The Rock at dusk...amazing view as the city lit up. By luck wandered into a Fest in Little Italy and spent the afternoon. On Saturday there was a Flea Market type sale up 7th Ave from 47th St North that solved most of my wife's shopping needs. It was great because as she shopped I ate chicken on a stick (can you sense my needs aren't much), fresh fruit and corn on the cob. Overall a very enjoyable 4 days. Thanks again for all the ideas. Glad you had a nice time.
One of the great things about NYC is that there's always something going on that doesn't necessitate big bucks. |

Always interested in hotel reviews. Would you mind sharing how much you paid per night and did you book directly thru Edison Hotel? Walking the Brooklyn Bridge, free and never get tired of it. Your trip sounds like it was lots of fun. Sandy |
As a native NYers, born and raised...I never get tired of my city's many attractions. The sad thing is that its so damn expensive, that many can not afford to see shows and do most of the things that cost money.
But the free things like Brooklyn Bridge, Central and Prospect Park, Museums and just walking around the city makes up for it. Andy TravelByAndy.com |

You'll get a kick out of this...we found the Edison on www.Reserve-Hotel.com and after paying, the travel voucher was issued by "Turquoise Tours & Travel" of London. I believe we paid $224.00 per night. |
