sorry so late, but going to Chicago in 2 days and havent done a museum in a long time. which would be better, Field or Science and Industry?? Any other suggestions on things to do. Thought about a trolley tour?? which and are they still free or expensive now. coming in on train to Union Station.

Which museum depends on what you like--I prefer the Museum of Science and Industry.

The architectural boat tour is very good.

And I agree that which museum you choose depends on what interests you. They're both excellent museums.

Shedd Aquarium is also well worth a visit.

Thanks forgot to mention already took boat tour. excellent. what is difference in the Field museum and Science and Industry. Also good places to lunch. Thinking about Signature room and the Walnut at Maceys. Others?? Also going to 2nd city and looking for a good dinner, not too expensive after a 4 pm show on Sat

Field is a natural history museum; the other is evident from its name.

Perhaps you could go on each of their websites and see which exhibits interest you.

The Oriental Institute at Univ of Chicago or Chicago History Museum are other options. Both are relatively small and can be visited in just a couple hours. You can find other options by checking www.explorechicago.org or www.choosechicago.com.

The Signature Room and Walnut room are both overpriced and the food is only so-so. You can find many better options than either.

<i>Not too expensive</i> means different things to different people. There are several places near Second City on Wells south of North Ave. You can check www.metromix.com or www.chicagoreader.com and search for restaurants by neighborhood, cuisine or price range.

We thought the Museum of Science and Industry was more for kids than anything else. Really didn't like it at all. Absolutely loved the architectural boat tour through the Architecture Foundation. The docent was just wonderful and we really enjoyed the tour.

Also loved the Conservatory at Lincoln Park. A must see if you love plants.

The Field Museum has one of the most beautiful native AMerican dresses on view. It was very impressive.
