Questions about Weatherford and Granbury (TX)

I've been to Weatherford and Granbury twice, going a third time in December. I'm thinking about relocating to one of these areas, but I would like to talk to someone who lives there.

What would these towns be like for a family with small children? Are the natives open to newcomers (from Illinois)? I'm looking for any information at all. Thank you!

There are sooo many people who have moved to this area that newcomers are routine. We have found Texans to be friendly and very family friendly, IF you, too, are friendly and polite. I think that is true anywhere. Don't constantly talk about where you came from, how great basements are, etc. We moved from the north, so I know of what I speak! :) We love it here, and remember that although it does get hot, you don't have to scoop and scrape sunshine!

GREAT REPLY TRANSPLANT!
I am a native and can say that most of my neighbors are transplants.
I love the diversity and I enjoy talking about their hometowns.
It's ok to say that you can't get a decent Pastrami on Rye ... stuff like that. The only rule... don't put us or our culture down. DFW IS different than many cities.
Embrace the differences and enjoy a great enchilada when you get a hankering for the Pastrami on Rye.
:)

I didn't realize so many people were transplants! That's interesting. Thank you for your replies!
