Hey bbqboy,
I didn't word that sentence properly. It wasn't a place owned by friends of mine, simply a little mom and pop joint we went to frequently when I worked in the area. It was in a little brick building on Dobbins right across from the Silver Pony bar. Can't recall the name as we always referred to it as mom & pop's – a co-worker bonding thing, I suppose. But it appears both the Silver Pony and my little BBQ joint have succumbed because the numbers I have for them are no longer working. Next time I’m in that area I’ll drive by and check for sure, though. They were the couple that always helped with the food for the annual Laveen BBQ, so maybe someone else knows them and whether or not they’re still there or if they’ve relocated. I haven’t worked in the Laveen area for over three years, so a lot has changed down there since then from what I’ve heard. |
