Questions about NO restaurants.

Is the early-bird dinner at Brigtsen's only on certain nights? What should my husband wear (jacket, dress shirt, tie, etc.) to Commander's Palace for jazz brunch?
Thanks.

Commander's Palace hasn't required a coat for brunch in a very long time. Your husband will be fine with a collared shirt and khakis.

This may seem like a really dumb question, but by "collared shirt" do you mean more like a long-sleeved dress shirt (like my husband wears to work) or would a nice collared polo shirt (short-sleeved) be acceptable?

Not a dumb question at all...I should've been clearer. A nice collared polo shirt is fine, especially in summer or warm months. My husand will probably never go there without a coat because he's been wearing one for decades, but when we were there last spring many - if not most - men didn't have one on.

Thanks for the info. My husband will be very appreciative. I don't think he was looking forward to wearing a jacket in the NO heat.

The early-bird dinner at Brigtsen's is only offered on Tues-Wed-Thurs nights. It is excellent and under $20 for 3 courses. My husband and I enjoyed the streetcar ride out there.

We loved the streetcar ride out (in the daylight) and back (after dark) and dinner at Brigtsen's.

Note that locals tend to dress for dinner, and that most restaurants are so chilly inside your husband may be glad to have a jacket along (and you, too).
