Question about the Double Tree?

Has anyone stayed at the Double Tree located by Times Square? If so, did you have a good experience? I'm willing to pay $350/per night so if you have better ideas please let me know. Keep in mind I want the hotel close to Time Square.

I don't know when you're going, but you can get a king suite for only $309 on Hilton's website.
Consider using Priceline (check biddingfortravel.com first). You can stay in the Times Square area for much less than $350/night.

We paid something like $160 per night with AAA at the Times Square Doubletree. This was in August 2001. I would not pay $350 for this hotel even though it was nice and the location was superb. Unfortunately I don't have any other hotel to compare it to

I stayed there - best thing about the DoubleTree is, of course - THE CHOCO CHIP COOKIES!!! Depends on when you are going and $350 may be reasonable. I also paid $495/night at the Holiday Inn Crown on Broadway and thought it sucked compared to the DTree. DTree has bigger rooms. But then again I am partial to ANY DTree! :)

How does DoubleTree compare to Marriott at Times Square. We are considering both for late May trip. I'm not comfortable with the bidding sites since there are three of us and will need two beds. Prefer a King for me and hubby and a sleeper sofa or single/double for our daughter. I am also concerned about noise staying near Times Square. Anyone have any comments about the noise if you've stayed at DoubleTree or Marriott?

Paige,
Noise shouldn't be a problem if you request an upper floor and a room not facing Times Square itself. A front desk employee suggested this to us when we checked in and it was extremely quiet on our floor. The two room suite worked well for our family--the kids had the pull-out sofa and their own tv plus the bathroom had an entrance from each room.
