Question about BECCO before All Shook Up
 

I plan to make reservations at BECCO, which doesn't look far from the Palace Theater, where we have tickets for All Shook Up. My question is... has anyone eaten at BECCO before a 7:00 PM show? I see that they start serving dinner at 5:00 PM, and I'm wondering if that would give us enough time. I'm allowing for the restaurant running late and maybe not getting our food until 6:00 PM or so. Anyone done this? It seems like it would be enough time, but could be rushed.

We did exactly what you are going to do.

There is time. Becco is all down for this scenario. You will not be late.

Come at 5pm and eat. That's it. The three specials of the day will be prepared PRONTO. Enjoy- this is one of my favorites in NYC.

Becco is very used to pre-theater dining and they'll definitely get you out the door so you'll be on time. Just let them know that you have a 7:00 show to see.

I loved their pre-theater pasta dinner. They have the 3 specials, and its all you can eat. the waiter wanders by with a platter of pasta and offers you some. I thought it was very good, and certainly gets you to the theater on time.

Echoing the previous comments, you'll have absolutely no problem dining leisurely and making the 7 p.m. curtain. The theater is a mere 2 1/2 blocks away, so can actually stay at Becco until 6:45, having a leisurely stroll to the theater and be on time.

Thanks, Howard... it looked as if it was very close, but sometimes it's hard to tell by looking at the map. Good to know :-)

Best advice I can give you about eating at Becco, particularly with a 5:00 reservation---SKIP LUNCH! You'll thank me later. (especially if one of their pasta specialties that night is the mushroom ravioli)

Actually, I was just talking to my husband about that today. He thought we wouldn't be hungry, but my suggestion was a late breakfast and an early dinner at BECCO, no lunch :-)
