Queen's Bath on Kauai still closed?

One of the things I was looking forward to doing on our September trip to Kauai was going to Queen's Bath. (It's near our rental). I read that it was closed due a death and a pending lawsuit. I didn't have the impression from the guidebooks that it was dangerous. Are people still going there, despite the closing? Anybody out there know if this issue is settled yet?

The public parking near Queen's bath has been blocked - otherwise the site is 'open.' Parking is challenging because the expensive neighborhood being built around the area provides no public parking. Some people just parked along the road and risked a ticket - none were issued while we were there. We were on Kauai about 4 weeks ago and visited Queen's bath. The bath itself doesn't appear dangerous - but if you entered the ocean in the other areas nearby (obviously dangerous) then I imagine it would be possible to get hurt. There were several other people at Queen's bath when we were there.

We were there in April. There was an ominous sign stating that it was CLOSED. Sadly we obeyed the sign. Wish we would have gone!

I'm glad to hear that there is still access, even though no parking. Shouldn't be a problem for us, since it is within walking distance.

Maggi a beach I prefer over Queen's bath is Hideaway or Secret's beach (forget name) closer to Princeville resort (walking distance) few people go there and you have wonderful shade from trees over you, pale aqua waters in front of you.

Chuck it is hot and certainly a sight but I went once and only returned to show guests. I really don't like this bath though, too many people, no shade and hot sharp rocks under your feet, so don't feel like you missed out.

I can see why they blocked those parking areas. When we were there 8/01 people from the lot were walking up to home owners asking if hoses were available to rinse off, privately owned hoses. I can imagine the opening and closing of car doors is a problem also in the early morning.
