has anyone stayed at the quality inn plaza international drive? could you please let me know what it is like as we are thinking of booking it for april, we will have 2 kids with us [1 and 6]. are we better to purchase our tickets before we go or should we wait till we get over there? would really appreciate any help. thanks

is this supposed to be some kind of guessing game? or are we supposed to know where the hell you're talking about? For a jetsetter, you sure are very unclear. maybe other jetsetters know where you mean, but I don't have a clue.

I assume you're referring to a hotel in Orlando-- it would be helpful if you mentioned that somewhere in the post. And for that matter, tickets for WHAT?!?
Theme parks, shows, theatre, what? The more background information provided, the better the responses.

If Quality Inn Plaza (in Orlando, FL) is the one at 9000 International Drive (there are 2 QI on I-Drive) .. well, yes, I've stayed. It's ok -- nothing spectacular, but decently priced. I think each room (mine did, anyway) fridge & microwave. There's both a I-Drive Trolley stop and a Lynx bus (public transit) right in front of the hotel. Universal had free shuttles stopping at the hotel maybe 6 times a day. I never moved my rental car once I'd parked there, as the I-Drive Trolley ($3 for 3 day unlimited use) and the Universal shuttle got me everywhere I needed to go. The hotel had a convenience store off the lobby ... the restaurant I used once (not so great) and went to a nearby buffet place for breakfasts. I think it had a couple of outdoor pools (record low temps while I was there)Ticket prices seem to always change, so can't offer any advice, other than the the local tourism office sometimes has some discounts available.

Jetsetter, be aware that just because you probably did a search for "orlando" or "universal" that your message just gets "lumped" in "United States", so readers have no idea what you're asking, unless (like me) are familiar with the area. "Quality Inn Plaza - Orlando" would have been a better title.

BTW, jetsetter, if you're using QI as a base for WDW visits too, it's not very good.

I'm not looking for any advice on Orlando, I was giving some. I repeat. Quality and Disney World do not belong in the same sentence.
Of course that's just my opinion, but that's what this board is for.

Sorry earl. I was responding to jetsetter. Got my names screwed up. Jetsetter would be better off posting on disboards to avoid naysayers and get useful advice.

Earl - you do have a right to your opinion but this board would be useless if everyone responded the way you did about any given destination. Tell us why you don't like something - give specifics. That's helpful.

Personally I agree with you about most of Orlando but jetsetter is not going to go just because of what we say. By visiting the other board he'll get useful info that will make his vacation better.

Nor do I disagree with earl30's sentiments about WDW, and Universal too. I didn't much enjoy it, but lots of people do. When someone asks a question here, I'm sure they're looking for advice, not opinions with no backup for why the poster holds such opinions. One of my own is that I doubt a 1 yr old will get any benefit from the vacation .. that in 2-3 more years at least both kids could find fun in the trip. I enjoyed KSC and StAugustine a lot more than Orlando, which I found to be a neatly wrapped, but sterile offering ... but many enjoy it or it wouldn't continue in business.
