Quakertown, PA
 

I'm going to be in Quakertown, PA, for one day and was wondering if there's anything I must see while there before I head back to Los Angeles. Thanks!

Sorry, I'm not familiar with Quakertown, but I think somebody who did would want to know when you'll be there, and if you'll have a car.

I am sorry to say there is nothing to do in Quakertown. I live 35 minutes away and I am not aware of any attraction worth visiting.

If you have a car while you are there maybe you could drive to King of Prussia or Valley Forge.
It really depends on the weather and what activities you enjoy.

I've heard that Jim Thorpe (a little north of Quakertown) is supposed to be sort of quaint - although don't go on Tues - everything is closed for some reason.

Easton isn't all that far away (30 min?) and it's also quaint. If you're not flying out of Lehigh Valley, I'd head down to Philly and explore there. Valley Forge NHP is nice if you've never been.

Only thing of note in Quakertown is a small replica of the Liberty Bell, where it spent the night, one night in 1777

How about the Pearl Buck home; it opens mid-April and is a nice stop in a nice area.

I agree with Amie about the Pearl S. Buck home, which is about a 15 minute drive south of Quakertown.

Also in the area, which might be of interest if you are catholic or Polish, is the Shrine of Czestochowa.

A little further south is the Mercer Museum and Moravian Tile Works in Doylestown.
