I've been spending quite a bit of time in Lambertville and will be there for the entire two months of June and July. I think it's a charming little town (much more charm than New Hope in fact, but lots smaller.
Hamilton Grill is a really nice restaurant, and the tiny little bar called The Boat House, almost adjacent is now my favorite watering hole anywhere. Tiny and cozy, drinks only filled with truckloads of boating and nautical memorabilia -- very friendly and great drinks.

We stayed at the Stockton Inn in Stockton NJ, about 2 miles down the road from Lambertville and New Hope across the river. We liked the Inn very much and as JohnfromNewHope mentioned, the restaurant is excellent. If you are a fan of older Broadway shows, this is the hotel described in the Rogers and Hart song "Small Hotel" and much of what is described in the song is still there.

We're staying this week for a few days in CentreBridge near New Hope, and wonder what JohnfromNewHope, NeoPatrick, and basingstoke2, et al, would recommend to do in the area aside from exploring the towns of Lambertville & New Hope? Hope you're all having a great summer. How's the weather? Do you swim in the Delaware River?

starrs, yes, I'm "hiding out" in Lambertville this summer.
Question? patash2 atthe yahooplace.
And yes, The Boathouse is my favorite place in the town of Lambertville, although it's really amazing in winter with the pot belly stove going and being able to sit upstairs in the comfy loft.
Have been riding a bike along the canal path next to the Delaware on the NJ side, going north as far as Frenchtown. But it's really hot now -- may hit 100 this week -- and I'm escaping the heat of Florida?

Hey, a Blue Ridge friend came over yesterday and we marveled at the coolness (and sweetness) of this mountain air. You could have chosen the 70-84 range instead.
I've always wanted to visit New Hope (based on friends' recommendations) but maybe it should be Lambertville instead.
Really hope you come back this way for a Tuna show - or two

Lambertville has quite an array of really nice, very small restaurants (often they seem to be chef-owned by chefs who have moved out from the big city) and they are often also BYOB as they don't have liquor licenses. Lambertville has no Starbucks, no 7-11, no MacDonald's, no chain restaurants at all in fact, and only family owned stores, boutiques, and shops. There are fireworks over the river every Friday night in summer. It's a rarity in this day and age. New Hope is a 2 minute (?)walk across the bridge spanning the Delaware. You can find many of the franchise places there if you prefer. New Hope has considerably more commercial development.
Yea, BT, my Tuna cohort and his wife Cindy have been begging me for a visit to Blue Ridge, but it isn't going to happen this summer. Paul, our Tuna director wants us to do The Sunshine Boys there and/or in Naples, but since Paul has sold his cabin in Blue Ridge, I doubt that's going to happen either.
