Purchasing Gold Jewelry in Lahaina
 

We were in Maui four years ago and will be returning in 96 sleeps. Last time we were there, my husband and I bought some lovely gold jewelry at very reasonably prices in Lahaina. I was wondering if anyone has purchased gold in Lahaina recently, and if so, where you found the best prices. Thanks for your feedback.

If you want good quality for less go to Dubai, UAE. It's not like cheap light-weight mixed with other metals gold like here in America.<BR><BR>Dubai for life!

In 2001, we went jewelry shopping in Lahaina. We went didn't pay full price in any of the shops. I let them know I could get it cheaper in another store and didn't have a problem getting deals. We usually go in Feb., so I tell hubby not to buy Xmas, we'll do my shopping in Lahaina.<BR>I think I got my best deals at a place called the Gold Mart.<BR>Have a great time!!

I work in the retail jewelry industry and am curious as to why people think they are getting deals on a certain types of jewelry in various destinations. For example, why would Lahaina have better gold prices than anywhere else on Maui? Or better than what you'll pay back on the mainland for that matter? It's not as though gold is mined near Lahaina thus the prices are lower. Is this just a vacation = spending attitude?

We did a lot of late night walking in Lahaina and looking in shops, which is the reason I did my shopping there. If you have suggestions for other places to shop for jewelry, please share.<BR>Instead of shopping for jewelry at Xmas, I have hubby wait til we get to Maui.<BR>I sorta look around during the year to see what I'd like to have and if I find a good deal on the mainland, I get it.<BR>We went whale watching in Maui, so I bought a silver and a gold whale tail, to wear on my chain, and when we went snorkeling and I encountered turtles, I bought a gold turtle. So, my jewelry are reminders of the fun I had and not something that will be packed or throw away in following years. <BR>This year we didn't get to go to Maui, so I asked for charm bracelets, to load up with charms.
