Public Travel Options Sheraton Meadowlands -Liberty State Park Jersey City

Trying to find a easy way to live the car at the Shearton Meadowlands @ East Rutherford, NJ and take a public option to the Red Bull Air Race at Liberty State Park in Jersey City.

Hotel was no help, and said cab only. Wondering if there is another garage not far from the State Park where I can park then cab it. Issue is I sure others have the same idea so I expect almost all the close garages to be jam packed.

Any Help...

M.

That area of New Jersey is suburban so public transit is really not good. The main emphasis is transportation into the city from there, not getting around the area.

I also would not expect to see alot of gragages in the immediate area. Call the park and ask what options might be available.

Thanks, it looks like the best option is driving to the Lincoln Harbor Light Rail Stop (Not sure if there is parking and it will probably be swamped) and catch the light rail to the Liberty State Park Light Rail Stop.

Thanks again...

Here is a link to the NJ Dept. of Transportation, Light Rail info:

If you go to the Site map, you'll be able to view various options such as station to station, etc.:

You could come into Manhattan by bus (to the Port Authority) and then take a ferry over to Liberty State Park, but I think the only ferry is downtown.

Thanks all. I ended up staying in New Brunswick and driving into the city, just a hotel I liked before, normally on the way out of NYC, but it was not too bad making the trip down twice.

Red Bull Air Race from the boats were okay, no where as good as seeing from Detroit last year, just a different setup in NYC.
