Provincetown whale watching - advance reservations really needed?
We will be on Cape Cod August 9 - 11 and would like to go on a whale watching cruise. I would prefer to wait and see how the weather is before picking a day to go but the websites "strongly recommned" reservations. Will we be out of luck if we don't book in advance?

The best is the Dolphin Fleet and I would highly recommend booking in advance. If the weather is bad they don't go out and you can reschedule.

We done Dolphin Fleet and have never booked in advance before. We usually just head there first when we arrive in Provincetown and book whatever boat is available. They have a number of sailings. I would definitely book in advance if you want a particular time, though.

WE just did whale watching with the Dolphin Fleet a couple wee4ks ago. We had advanced tickets. It was raining and we still went. It cleared up once we went out and we saw over 20 whales. It was fantastic!!!!!

Lots of humpback whales out there on Stellwagon Bank this year, so they are quite booked. Do book in advance, and do take Dramamine before hand if it's windy ( which it has been much of the summer). I highly recommendd the Dolphin fleet as well. Have fun!

It has been reported that there are a record amount of whales out there to be seen this year... Have fun watching the "gentle giants"

I've gone whale watching in Baja, Alaska, Southern California and P'town, and P'town was far and away the best experience.
Book a day/time early in your trip so if there is bad weather, you have time to reschedule. |
