Provincetown vs. Key West

I'm choosing between a vacation in Provincetown in August or going to the Keys in February with my husband. I've done a lot of research on each area, but would like to hear your thoughts also.

You're kidding, aren't you? In February, I would take a trip to the southernmost city.

It's like a tale of two cities (towns)both similar & different at the same time.

Key West: Much larger, more like a seaside city, spread out, you need transportation to get around but has many national hotel chains & restaurants to choose from. KW is more tropical, with outstanding snorkeling and glass-bottom boat viewing.

Provincetown is much more compact. Staying in the center of town you can walk to/from local inns, restaurants and attractions and never need to use your car. Provincetown has superior beaches and seafood to KW. Provincetown is more artsy and quaint and offers whale-watch cruises.

I know the answer. Go to Provincetown in August and to the Keys in February.

I was about to post the same thing!

I'd love to take both trips, but since my job doesn't allow for me to be away for two weeks within 6 months, I'll have to choose. Since we live in an area where we have harsh winters, I am opting for Key West in February.

Smart move. My wife and I've been doing the same thing for a dozen years. Breaks the back of a northern winter.

as suggested, do both...I do every year
