Provincetown, RI
I realize this isn't a gay & lesbian site, but I wondered if anyone knows anything about the Single Women's Weekend in Provincetown in May (not to be confused with Women's Week in October). Is this a big deal weekend, or is it just a few B&Bs that have gotten together and named a weekend?
Any info would be appreciated. Not much on the web, esp. the "official" site...

Oooh, good call. It's the one in Mass.
Um, is that THE Provincetown? I've always thought the one in R.I. was the big G&L city.
Damn, don't tell anyone I said that, they might take my membership card away!!

I grew up vavationing in Provincetown on Capecod, Ma. But now that famous writers, rich gays settled in and the old Portugeese fishing families died off(the children moved elsrewhere)and rents became unacceptable to my budget. I only dream of going back outside of our day trips. Race point is one of the most beautiful beaches in the USA.

Good Grief! How could anyone, in the know, confuse Provincetown MA with Providence, RI?
Other than the fact that they both begin with the same first five letters, there is nothing similar between them.
Providence, RI is a small city with some history and attractions but not much more than cities of similar size throughout the country.
Provincetown on the tip of Cape Cod however, is such a unique place that it attracts thousands of visitors during the Summer to it's many attractions.

Provincetown on the Cape is really fantastic, an amazing place, you should give it a go sometime when you get the chance
that said, you can give Rhode Island a miss (no offense to the good residents of Providence)
