Providence or Boston?
 

I will be in Providence for a short business trip. After the meeting, I will head up to Boston to spend a couple of days, and see my daughter, who's at school there. I formerly lived in Boston, and have visited it periodically since then, and have also visited Newport, RI several times. I'm thinking of spending an extra night in Providence before going to Boston; I've never been to Providence, and it looks like there are some historic colonial sites (my kind of thing) and good restaurants.

Any thoughts or suggestions on extra night in Providence vs. extra night in Boston? (I don't plan to have a car; I'll take public transport to Boston)
