Proposing in NYC at 60 Thompson

Hello all...I'm planning on proposing to my girlfriend on 10/8. I have a suite booked at 60 Thompson in NYC. If the weather is nice I was planning on proposing on the roof deck. Has anyone ever been here? What do you think of this idea...be totally honest. I don't even know what the deck is like but it looks nice. If there is crummy club music playing obviously this won't be ideal. Also, that night I have a reservation at Dylan Prime which is located in Tribeca. We're from Jersey and I really wanted to find a nice Italian place but I read the menus of some places and to me...it's just not traditional italian. If there are any other good "romantic" restaurant suggestions I would really appreciate it. Anything but One If By Land... and River Cafe. I'm sure they're great but I don't think the menu is for us.

I can't help you but just want to wish you good luck---your GF is a lucky girl!

I also wish you good luck but can't help with the rooftop question. I also haven't been to Dylan Prime but the review in Zagat's sounds great.

If you are looking for an Italian place that's romantic, check out Scalini Fedeli. It's northern Italian

Sounds like you're being very thoughtful, and I already read this on the "other" "F".com website.

"I am" is said to be the shortest sentence in the English language.

"I do" is the longest.

haha..yeah I did post this on the other. I wasn't getting much of a response so I figured I'd try this.

I just ate at Lupa located at 170 Thompson St (www.luparestaurant.com). Mario Batali is a partner in this Roman trattoria. The food was different but excellent at the atmosphere was somewhat casual but romantic. We ate under beside the street under the canopy. I highly recommend it.
