Jacket, instead of launching personal attack after personal attack, why don't you be constructive and point out how my above post was rude. I also suggest that you read the Fodors policy on personal attacks and refrain from any further personal attacks.
OK, have it your way. Your reply to Bonnie clearly implied she was not only mistaken but short sighted as well inre to her reply. And this comes on the heels of others shots you have taken at her. How is she supposed to take this? How is anyone supposed to take this? You should have known how this would sound even if in was meant w/o any hint of cynicism which you have admitted in the past. You do recall your post about looking for how stupid people here are and not being disappointed don't you? And as for proper behavior standards you need to act that way yourself before you can accuse others of such infractions. On this thread alone no less than 3 people have noted you to behave inappropriately. This is something that is not new yet you stubbornly refuse to acknowledge you have done anything wrong. If you want constructive criticism here it is. And it is easy to see. Be nice, help with your knowledge and wit when it is appropriate and refrain from bringing that axe to grind. You have said you are not disappointed with how stupid people can be on this forum. Since you know that your point has been proven. How often do you wish to reinforce it? Its done. Time to go on. Finally Rusty this forum is about people sharing information about traveling. Most of the exchanges are positve and folks feel good about that. We like it that way. its fun too. If you are so determined to prove the stupidity in life perhaps you can find another forum where your needs will be met. Yes, Rusty I think you need that Kona. You are not getting the picture. This is not rude, just fact. Take a good look at yourself.
You can't just ignore it can you? You have once again proven just how stupid (and rude) people can be.
The wheels are flying off Rusty. You ASKED for constructive criticism and now that you have gotten it you say I should have ignored you. And now you name call as well while before you accuse others of being rude. You must be very frustrated. This comesf from trying to advocate a hopeless position. Checkmate. Rematch?
Jacket, you are completely right. In the future, try to ignore things that irritate you.
Thanks for the advice Rusty. Perhaps you would do well to do the same(inre to the things you see as stupid.) And BTW I really do like some of your posts, the ones that are informative and witty. Keep those coming please. I am really not irritated but if I feel strongly about an issue I just can't ignore it. HAve a good rest of the day.

Just clicked on to see how a question of this nature could generate 26 hits. WOW! Food fight belongs in the cafeteria. ((a)) ((b))
Rusty's comments speak volumes, mostly about himself.
I like your name Budman (and I think I see where you get it)!
So just how does one pronounce Kauai? LOL!
Rusty, actually I'm a "Wineaux -- a wine lover who uses a glass." ((a))
My wife bought me the t-shirt. ((b)) |
Rusty is always quite the gentleman heres a post to prove it:
Author: Rusty Date: 04/22/2004, 12:06 pm Message: Macrey, don't be so damn cheap! Rent your hotel room for another day, or rent a room at a less expensive place. I have read a lot of good advise from Rusty but, his/her delivery could use some finesse. Could Rusty be an intelligent person who just enjoys insulting others and pushing buttons? Work on your people skills Rusty you have potential. |
So what phase of your winemaking are you in now Budman? BTW my preference is a good Scotch.
Actually, I'm bottling in July & August. Just bottled a Syrah Reserve (2002) last week.
I like to sniff a good scotch -- single malt is my preference. How do you pronounce "Budman"? I called my friend at work and his new secretary answered the phone. After struggling with the pronunciation of my last name, I told her just to tell him "The Budman" was calling. My friend answered the phone with a chuckle and said: "Oh, it's the Buttman." ((a)) ((b)) |
That is a funny story. I too prefer a single malt usually. Lagavuilin and Mc'Callan are my favs. Two yrs. ago my wife bought a 16 yr. old Mc'Callan as a Xmas gift. Best Scotch I have ever tried. Good luck with the wine sir. Time to sign off for the night. Larry.
mcarey, the "don't be so damn cheap" advice was right on wasn't it? And since you have no qualms about giving advice, I am sure you won't mind receiving this advice: "Work on your own people skills even though it appears that you have little potential in this area."
BTW, I have had an eye on Rusty's posts for weeks. I truly believe that, although he often has something useful to say, he is clearly a troller. That is one reason I have never responded to him. I can't bear to watch all this bantering anymore, though. IMO, he WANTS people to respond heatedly; he LIKES to incite others. He is baiting and any response is playing into the trap. Other than that, I agree that he comes across as very intelligent. Such characteristics are by no means incompatible of course. Finally, he really got to the heart of the matter when he told you to ignore him. I could just picture the corresponding impish grin.

Jacketwatch -
Whoa, are we off the subject! If you like Lagavulin (so smoky...mmmm) you might also consider Talisker and Ardbeg. The Highland single malts are particular favorites of mine too... Oh, to be in Hawaii right now, sitting on a lanai, sipping a bit o' the ole Lagavulin! |
sap, your "very intelligent" observation is very inciteful, but the rest of your post is a pack of s--t !
It truly does amaze me how absolutely lacking in common sense some (a lot?) of people can be (not you) The truth is I like to indulge my interest in observing the lack of common sense in society, and if I can pick up the the odd piece of useful information about Hawaii at the same time that is a bonus. By the way, did you know that there are numerous studies that link drinking scotch with low IQ ? |
I'm back. Rusty is up to his old, and I mean old tricks and yes Talisker is also one of my favorites. Same smoky, peaty characteristics. Have not tried Ardbeg but I will. Thanks for the info. Good night all and Rusty don't forget your lithium. Cheers.
