Procreation Vacation

Has anybody been on a procreation vacation?
I read about it in USA Today, and I'm wondering if it works:

"Three Starwood properties in the Caribbean and Bahamas have given birth to the concept, a three-night getaway that includes romantic dinners, spa treatments and island potions said to increase chances of a pregnancy."

I wonder if it works better than the snow storm or power failure method.

"Three Starwood properties in the Caribbean and Bahamas have given birth to the concept. . ."

Sounds like some publicist got hold of this clever catch phrase and decided to run with it.

All I can say, is that thank goodness I am beyond all of that. They are grown and more or less gone.

Awwww. How could one NOT open a thread like this one!!!!

Actually, it brough to mind the 'schedule' my OB suggested (more than 37 years ago!) to 'encourage' success. I didnt tell spouse anything about it, as we embarked on a near-3 week driving trip west. "Night One" came after a more than 500-mile driving day...........

The schedule didn't work that particular month, but did about three months later....and our, now, two kids will be 37 and 35 in the coming months.

thanks for the memory! (kinda sleazy as a hotel promotion though!!)

Hmm, Starwood allows points for double dipping I'm assuming.. hope it's not a cafeteria setup, never liked sloppy Joe's.

"Oh come all ye faithful" is heard in the elevator, and missionaries are encouraged to attend(a stiff upper lip is helpful if rapid descent should occur)..

Stopovers at Viagra Falls are permitted, for the first timers, a counselor is available, just go seeAlice.

Maybe this should be a part of the post "Questions that have never been asked at Fodors." :-)

Totally tacky attempt to play on the emotions of couples having difficulty conceiving.

Remember the hoopla about Kathy Lee and her cruise? She raved a cruise was the best way to get pregnant.

wanderluster Sep 14th, 2006 05:55 AM

bennie, I totally agree.

GoTravel Sep 14th, 2006 05:59 AM

wso, thanks for ruining my day.

Now I have gross thoughts of Cathy Lee and the Gif.

HTTY, bad, bad, bad.

It might be better to wait until 2007 when you can visit the museum near Covington, Kentucky. Less expensive hotels and airfare to the area.

Oh wait a minute. That's The "Creation" museum, not "Procreation."

Never mind. :-)

(With a tip of the hat to the delightful and departed Gilda Radner.)

Think of procreation activities as pleasure and not as work. The procreation process IS a vacation.

If this marketing strategy succeeds, thye might run with the other possibilities:

1. Pre-divorce vacation.. has your spouse reached their "use-by" date? We have the solution.. bring your albums and share all the good times before you reach the expiration date.. as a free bonus, we have cosmetic surgeons here to help create that brand new you.

Take a good look around, maybe your new soulmate is sitting next to their "used throw pillow".. why keep your 60 when you can have a shiny new 20?

Remember, Saturday night, we will have a pageant for Most Promising Fresh Start King and Queen.
