Problem with Travelocity, any suggest
On Oct 16, i booked ticket from EWR to BKK for my BF and he received mail confirmation of price at 1800 USD that day. His departure is on Dec 22,07. This week he wonder why airfare not charge to credit card yet. So he called to customer service. Staff replied that ticket not booked because Continental Airline cancelled flight. And said the same airline will open same flight as cancelled but price is at 2600 USD. So wonder!!!!

Ouch! I can relate - last week Tuesday I was at a hotel and made a reservation for the following Friday at the front desk of the hotel (I usually do this online), and the employee didn't offer a confirmation code, and I didn't think to get one. Well, of course, come Friday they were sold out and because I did not have the confirmation they were unwilling to do anything for me. Did you receive a confirmation code when you booked?

Is he flying EWR-NRT on CO, then NRT-BKK on NW?
My opinion is that Travelocity lied to you. CO definitely wouldn't have canceled a EWR-NRT flight on 12/22 when it's peak season for travel to Asia with very high fares and very full flights. |
Yes, we received. And we still keep e-mail confirm all details sent on Oct 16. They also describe how they gonna charge.
|
The flight is EWR to Beijing, China then via Thai Airway to Bangkok
|
Well, same thing. CO doesn't fly to PEK on 12/24 and 12/25, but no way will have they canceled a flight on 12/22.
Sorry for your trouble. Good luck with dealing with Travelocity. Next time, if you see an itinerary like that which can't be booked directly on continental.com, you can put the EWR-PEK leg on hold (by choosing pay with cash option), then call continental.com support to add that extra legs to BKK or wherever. It should price out as the same as if you use Orbitz or Travelocity. |
Thanks, next time we will try to do that. I tried to e-mail to Continental whether they used to cancel or not. But everytime i click Contact Us ,then stuck to question...i can't find their e-mail address

I suggest you use the phone for anything you want an answer for within a reasonable period of time. Emails will take days if not weeks to get replies, if at all.
|
And for your situation, you may want to call CO's Customer Care line at 800-WE-CARE2 (800-932-2732).
|
Thanks for the numbers, i will try to call. At first the reason i want to e-mail is that i wanna have documents sent to Travelocity that they lie. And 2nd i am in Thailand.

just wanna update, finally Trvelocity sent mail to me that they will pass this info to right department, and my BF will be contact in shortly.
