Private dining in Minneapolis

I need an upscale restaurant with a private room in the Minneapolis area that can accomodate a meeting and dinner for approximately 15-20 people. Any ideas? It will be in the next couple of weeks.

Contact the restaurant/wine critic @ Minneapolis Magazine.
BTW, he is my BIL.

Are you looking for downtown Minneapolis? If so, I recently had to find just such a place for a business dinner. Three restaurants that I can recommend that offer this are:

Mission American Kitchen: http://www.missionamerican.com/

Firelake Restaurant in the Radisson Hotel: http://www.firelakerestaurant.com/

Nicollet Island Inn: http://www.nicolletislandinn.com/

All 3 would suit your purposes just fine. They are upscale, well-rated restaurants with private rooms. We ended up at Mission and were treated very well there.

Thanks Mikemo! I'll visit the MN Mag web-site to see if I can get an e-mail address for him. Appreciate your help.

SST03-

I'll add in my 2 cents.

Cafe Lurcat- one of my favorites in Mpls. They have a very nice private room.

I have not been to D'amico Cucina but it is considered to be one of the nicest restaurants in the cities and I believe it has a private room.

Finally, Vincent in downtown Mpls. Although it does not technically have a private room, it does have an upstairs which they can use for private events. This is also one of my favorites.

I went to FireLake earlier this year and was not that impressed. I have heard good things about Mission American Kitchen though. Good luck!

I thought of one more place...Cosmos in the Meridien hotel in downtown Mpls also has a private room. Great restaurant with a trendy atmosphere. Their room may be a little small for 15 to 20 but it doesn't hurt to check...

sst03,
Were you able to contact Peter Lilienthal @ Minneapolis Magazine?
They may be out of town.

I know that the Napa Valley Grille at the Mall of America in Bloomington has a private room as well. As does Lord Fletcher's on Lake Minnetonka. Just another couple of options.

Attended a private birthday party at D'Amico Cucina (downtown) last year. Their private room and food are awesome. Pricey though. Second choice would be Nicollet Island Inn.

Good Afternoon Everyone!
I had to reply to this since I am personally connected to what you are talking about. My name is Kristin Van Putten and I am General Manager of FireLake Grill House and Cocktail Bar. We do have private dining space and can accomodate groups from 8-42 guests. We do not charge a food and beverage minimum or a room rental fee. We print up personalized and customized menus for you and your guests to choose from. The food is fantastic. We use different woods to accent the Midwestern flavors of our dishes. The atmosphere is very comfortable but can be a bit loud if you are looking for a quiet and private meeting. If I can be of any assistance for you, my direct line is 612-547-6241. Thank you!!! Kristin
