private cruise on SF Bay
We just did something fun on the spur of the moment--a private cruise on San Francisco Bay! The idea was recommended by a friend but the weather was not promising so we kind of dismissed it.
Then one morning we took a chance between storms and emailed Blair Krueger, the owner of Tenacity. He got right back to us. He'd had a cancellation so his comfortable 30-foot power boat was ours for the afternoon!
Blair picked us up at Pier 39, very convenient to Fisherman's Wharf hotels. It wasn't cheap, but since there were five of us, I would consider it a good value. Blair is a Coast Guard certified Captain and he is a great guy--very friendly, very informative.
He suggested going out under the Golden Gate Bridge first--amazing! Then we followed the beautiful Marin County coastline past Sausalito, almost to Tiburon, around Belvedere Island and Angel Island and right past Alcatraz. Great photo ops of the SF skyline, not to mention the Bridge!
We had ample refreshments--IPA's, a good bottle of red, some cheeses & pears and wonderful fresh sourdough, a few other things. He says the winter skies are especially dramatic and that was certainly true the day we went. So check out Blair's website Sfboatthebay for a new SF experience.
