Private beach club in Honolulu?

Does anyone know anything about a private beach club in Honolulu/Waikiki? A friend was telling me about it but doesn't know the name...
thanks!

Outrigger Canoe Club. You need to be a member but they have reciprocity agreements with many mainland country clubs.

By the way, when they were filming Magnum PI in Hawaii, they used the Outrigger Club for the "King Kamehameha Club" in the show.

thanks for the reply. I found the website. My BF is a member at a reciprocal club. Is the Outrigger Canoe Club worth visiting? Does it have a nice beach/facility? We will be staying at the Royal Hawaiian or Moana Surfider...

Yes, it's nice and you will probably enjoy meeting local members. It is located in the quieter Diamond head end of Waikiki near the W Hotel. The beach is not very big there.

The beach isn't that great there, but you can check out surfboards, swim in the pool and the food is good- both at teh snack bar and in the dining room
