priority club for holiday inn

I was interested in staying at the holiday inn city center in chicago, and reading the reviews under "rants and raves" on this site someone recommended signing up for the priority club before staying here. What is the priority club? Does it cost anything? Is it worth it?

Priority Club is a frequent stay membership program with Holiday Inn. If you travel a lot and stay at a lot of Holiday Inns, it's probably worth signing up. There are a few perks involved depending on the hotel you stay at which could be free newspapers, complimentary breakfast or upgrades if available.

The points aren't worth much, but the late checkout (2 PM) and free upgrades if available have always made it good for me.

does it cost to register?

It used to be $10, I don't know how much it is now.

It doesn't cost anything to register, and you can do it on-line. While you won't accrue many Priority Club points for just one stay, they will allow you to immediately convert the points to frequent flyer miles on various airlines. Just indicate this preference when establishing your account.
