Princeville Luau or seafood buffet

Anyone who has done both? I hear that the food is great at the seafood buffet, but I have not really heard anything about the princville luau.

Thanks,

Scott

The seafood buffet is definitely the better choice of the two. We live in Princeville, and dining at the hotel is one of our favorite "treats".

While I didn't do the luau, the Friday seafood buffet is not to be missed.

And some advice:
If you want to see the sunset (another must), make sure you book early as the times fill up quickly. Also, even if you got a sunset reservation time, some tables are better than others and it's first-come-first-served for these prime seats. Therefore, you must get on line early; e.g. before 5 P.M. for a 5:30 reservation.

Enjoy.....

I stayed at the PV a few years ago and loved the hotel and the Library Bar for a cocktail. I must admit, we didn't do either dinner. But, you may just want to be aware that the Luau, something we had planned on going to, takes place at long plastic picnic tables under a tent by the pool. You sit in plastic chairs, about 25 to 30 yards away from the beach, and see a show that appeared, to us, to be something out of cruise ship.

Perhaps they are all like this and we had higher expectations than the reality of hotel Luaus. To us, it just didn't seem worth the cost with so many other places to go on the Kuaui.

Perhaps it wasn't as bad as we anticipated as other will tell you.

Which is the best luau in Kauai? We are travelling there in January with 2 boys and would love to take part in a fun filled evening. What do you all recommend?
