Prince Kuhio Resort
Has anyone stayed here and could give any comments?
We are debating between a condo or a hotel. Thanks. |
Each unit is privately owned, so the furnishings will differ -- but the location is nice (across the street from the ocean, so some units do have ocean views):

Topping off to maybe get more replies. Has anyone stayed here? Is it clean? Does it smell musty? Any good restaurants in the area? Good snorkeling nearby? My husband and I plan to spend our time on Kauai relaxing and snorkeling. We plan on a lot of book reading and just chilling. Any input would be VERY appreciated.

I haven't stayed there but visited friends who did. They had a nice 1 bedroom on the 3rd floor. Complex is 3 floors high, no elevator so be prepared to deal with bags if on upper floors. Parking is limited but I understand that you can use the parking area next door at Lawai Beach Resort. My friends were very happy with their room. I thought it was nice, not over the top , of course, but had some nice tropical touches. Fairly large unit. Not much in terms of grounds. There is a smallish pool out back, not very fancy. The complex is across the street from the water. There are partial ocean views from most units. The Beach House restaurant is across the street, one of Kauai's most romantic restaurants. There is also a nice snorkling beach by the Beach House that is popular for snorkling on the South Shore. If you enjoy walking, you can have a gorgeous walk down to the Spouting Horn about 2 miles. All in all, this is a nice affordable condo complex, probably one of the most affordable in the Poipu area. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much Brenda!!! That is exactly the info I was looking for. We are pretty basic people, so we don't need anything fancy. Thanks again!!

I think you will be happy there if you are not into the high resorty places. I have referred many friends looking for affordable accommodations to Prince Kuhio. I have timeshares next door at Lawai Beach Resort and leave in a week for a month stay.I've been going for 15 years and I love the area and the island of Kauai. I can smell and feel the tropics already. Let me know if I can help with any other info on the south shore area.
