Prince Kuhio Condos

Anyone ever stayed at Prince Kuhio Condos
on Kauai and if so any comments would be appreciated. Is there any public transit or do you need a car.

There is no public transportation to speak of on Kauai.

Well I would just say that I didn't visit the city but I was just planning for it and expect some more information about Prince Kuhio Condos.

I'd check tripAdvisor.com for some info on the condo itself. You def. need a car on Kauai.

Stayed next to/close it once for a week -in a Timeshare trade - Lawai Beach Resort - and it's a great location. http://www.lawaibeach.org/

There is a beach across the frontage road - with reefs - so it's good for swimming and snorkeling, and was fairly calm/no big surf, at least while we were there.

From the pics - the Prince Kuhio condos look fine. Usually - much depends on the particular condo you rent and how it's kept up, but for around $100+ a night (on a 7 week rental) - I think it looks interesting.

We stayed there for a few weeks about 10 yrs or so ago when our regular hotel in Kapaa was undergoing a remodel and the noise and Genl Mgr got too much for us.

Nice place but no real ocean views per se.
Agree with Tomsd on the Lawai. Also the place across the street, Kuhio Shores.

Good, energetic walk to Spouting Horn and to the new shopping/eating area by the "traffic circle". Loved being across the street from The Beach House and the small beach right there. It did get crowded if you got there late.

Other than The Kauai Bus and taxis/limos (chaCHING), as SF7307 mentioned, not too much public transportation.

We stayed in a one bedroom at Prince Kuhio a few years ago. The price was definitely right, we actually did have a view of the ocean however there was no proper balcony and for that reason we wouldn't stay there again. It is a great location and we really enjoyed watching the sunset and the whale show from the lawn in front of The Beach House.

Check to see if there is air conditioning ... if that is an issue for you.

Good call edjim.
Ours didn't have it but had big ceiling fans in the living and bed rooms.

We were on the top floor so we could keep the bedroom window open to hear a bit of the ocean.

Appreciate all the info but Parrish Collection had a sale on yesterday and we booked a 1 bedroom condo for $89.00 a night regular from $139.00 to $208.00. Seems to be what we wanted except no ocean view but we are not in the condo all day.
Thanks everyone

Sorry I should have mentioned it is at Waikomo Stream Villas.

These are old and inexpensive. Don't expect a lot.

I would never rent anywhere in Hawaii at any time of year if A/C was not an option in the unit. Ceiling fans are adequate *unless* the trade winds die, and they DO! (We visit in winter!)

You'll be within stumbling distance to Brenneke's!
