Interesting, but not surprising, really.

There will always be travelers who want the 5-star, luxury resort experience. Those hotels are indeed over-the-top spectacular.

I don't find it real surprising either. We have stayed at the Little Nell (as a super special) and it is truly a treat. But there is the fact that there is a LOT of money coming to ski in Colorado from all over the world, let alone the rock stars that are americans.

These resorts also host a number of business conferences. There's one at the St Regis this summer that I wish DH could attend. And me, too.
