Priceline - New York City Hotel

I'm considering bidding on a hotel in New York City for the middle of September. I'm willing to pay up to $125.00 per night. Is this reasonable? If so, what type of hotel can I expect to receive? Thanks

go to biddingfortravel.com
this is a great site - you will be able to see what others have gotten and the prices they have paid.

You should check the two popular web forums that offer tips on Priceline bidding. www.biddingfortravel is the original one and has the largest database of prior winning bids. The other site is www.betterbidding.com - I prefer it because they also cover Hotwire and the moderators are much friendlier. Both are good resources.

You can get a very nice hotel room for less than that. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com, where you can get lots of good advice about bidding strategies, as well as a list of hotels that people have reported winning on Priceline, which section of NYC the hotel's in, and discussions about bidders' expriences.

Lately, the most frequently reported wins have been the Hilton and Towers (4-star, midtown west, average bid $90), the Jolly Hotel Madison Towers (3-star, midtown south, $67) and the Courtyard by Marriot Midtown East ($67). But when you bid, you do get to choose which section of town you're bidding on.

We are going to NYC 7/24 through 7/29 for the first time and we have gotten a hotel room through Priceline at the Grand Hyatt for $75 a night. With the money that we are saving, we are planning to go to several shows. I am very excited. As the previous poster stated, you should go to biddingfortravel.com and get all the info you need before bidding. It is the site you need to check out to become an informed bidder. The moderators seem a bit tense, but the info is valuable.
