jlm, get real. If you are going to put the knock on somebody, acknowledge it and do it straightforwardly, as I did with BFT, not with such a backhanded "apology."

You understood what I was saying, you just didn't like it. And you do care what I wrote, or you would ignore it rather than coming back repeatedly to trash me for it.

Neither what I have said about BFT, nor what you have said about me, has left much room for "misunderstanding," and you know that very well.

You've called me "extreme" and now "silly," and then gone on to imply I'm odd to feel upset by that.

What parts of "extreme" and "silly" do you not understand?

Please calm down! I'm trying to be nice here. I have nowhere called you silly either. I called the discussion silly, because it's truly an unimportant topic not worth hurting feelings over.

I really am sorry that I've upset you by this. I didn't mean anything nearly so horrid as you have taken my posts to mean. I don't think of you in the same way you think of BFT. Sometimes the printed word is difficult to understand. If you can't take my word for it here that I'm sincere, and that I didn't mean for this to escalate like it has, then there's nothing else I can do. The whole concept has gone far beyond what I meant, so I think it's best to let it go than try to understand further. If you don't, you'll have to escalate it on your own from here on out.

You misunderstand me. I think it's great that you shared your experience. But I also feel that you're being so insistent that BFT is not good, and only betterbidding should be used. I just don't understand why someone can't be presented with both sides (which happened) and make a choice where to go, instead of coming back and repeatedly saying how the other side sucks. That's all. You can say it, I'm only pointing out that I think it's extreme.

Hate to break it to you but, the other person is right:

BFT clearly is "NOT good" (for those who choose to correspond there).

And I have to say that upon visiting www.biddingfortravel.com you ARE indeed presented with "both sides".

You get the woman's name, in print, and you get her ass when corresponding.

And as before, I say this despite having never registered to correspond in any way on biddingfortravel.com.

The woman who runs it is the sort of person out there in society that everyone should simply take advantage of time and again without so much as even acknowledging that a human being exists under THAT facade.

In fact, biddingfortravel.com would be most ideal as a single-page, unmonitored website with "bidding tricks" for Priceline explained and perhaps the different hotel possibilities listed and organized by city/region.

Alohaaa,
Just got back from a nice long weekend in SF.
Used P'line and got the one of our faves, Kimpton's Galleria Park on Sutter between Kearny and Montgomery for about $80/night. I think it was a "B" Boutiqe hotel.

Booked it on Feb 7th after being shut down for a 4 ((*))

One block from Belden Pl. (had pre dinner cocktails at B44-will prob dine there next time-great bartender and friendly wait staff...even tho they knew we were going to A-16 for dinner!) and 2-3 blks to Union Sq. and a nice 10 min walk to the Ferry Brdg.

It's been my experience of late that P'line rooms are tougher and tougher to get the bargains of the good old days.
Ditto Hotwire.

I booked a room in SF thru Hotwire for Labor Day weekend and got a 3.5 star hotel that turned out to be The Club Quarters....stayed there a dozen times for business (at the company's choice!) and I'm sorry but it's no 3.5 star hotel. 2.5 or maybe 3 but with rooms so small my Navy buddy work associate calls it his "cabin" and I could hear his booming voice on the phone thru the wall.....it is newer, great location (right around the block from The London Wine Bar) and very nicely designed but 3.5???
I should have waited but I had an itchy trigger finger. :-!
Can't wait to go back to SF again....wadda view as we drove over The Bay bridge while wathcing a nice sunrise.
