Priceline

Does anyone know where I can get tips on how to use priceline.com? I've never used it before - and I'm thinking it may be helpful in planning my trip!

try www.biddingfortravel.com and www.betterbidding.com.

One thing to keep in mind, when using priceline, the prices and deal they offer are nothing special. The best deals can be had with the name your own price option. The websites chepar suggests have posts with bidding successes. Before you do use priceline make sure you have checked around to see what the best regular deals are (hotel websites, booking sites, etc).

Also Priceline only guarantees a room for 2. If you need a 2 bedded room, it can be risky, particularly in big cities (NYC, Boston) where there are many 'business' hotels with rooms that just have 1 bed. Although in most places you can call and request a room with 2 beds. We've done this a number of times.

Lastly you pay as soon as the bid is accepted and you can not cancel for a refund.

the sites chepar gave you are the best. Be sure to read them in their entirety before bidding on priceline. Be aware, once your bid is accepted, it's yours no matter what.

Read and understand free rebids thouroughly. That is extremely important!

Learning the intricacies of PL may be difficult, but is worth it. Don't bid until you are sure of what you are doing. Ask around if there is someone who is familiar with it, and plead with them to sit by the computer and teach you. ((*))
