Prescott Accomodation

On our round trip we just may be near to Prescott after spending the day travelling down from GC and through Sedona.

Can anyone recommend a cheap, clean, and cheerful motel or other accomodation in the general area? Sedona looks expensive so we'd planned on putting a little more driving into the day going South.

Pretty big loop with night stops at - Tucson, Holbrook, Chinle, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Prescott?, Tucson?, then week in Pearce on a ranch.

you might get a better variety of chain motels in the Camp Verde area along I-17

What about staying in Flagstaff? You can get a good deal on Priceline. Just be warned that trains go through there 24/7.

We need to be looking for somewhere on the South side of Sedona as we make our way back down to Tucson. Had originally planned to be nearer Phoenix but having heard that Sedona is worthy of a bit more attention was thinking to look a little closer. I notice prices at the standard motels fall as you go South and even Prescott Valley is cheaper than Prescott. Not looking for anything fancy and we aim to be on our way very early each morning so location is the priority I think.
