We recently stayed at the Mark Hopkins and found that having cocktails is fine unless the live music starts and then it's a $10 cover (even if you are already seated in the bar BEFORE the music starts) Make sure you get there early enough to enjoy your cocktail(s) unless you want to pay $10 per person. Great views from the window seating.

Looks good.

Curious: when? You are out side lots and if it rains...and it does you should be prepared and flexible.

Will look for your report on Solea.

DAY 2 : what time is your game? Point: The food is delicious at the BBpark.

Where on the ocean do you plan to dine?
Technically, the BBP is on the water...

Day5: Make reservations for dinner.

Have a Ball!

good point. You might get sucked into the idea of lunch at the Beach Chalet.
Great place for a drink, awful place for food. High prices for mediocre, often overly oily food.

Agree with Beach Chalet comments--as far as lunch options at Ocean Beach the only other option that I'm aware of is the Clift House. Not the greatest either (others may differ). Or did lunch at ocean mean a pinic lunch? May I ask why you choose E & O Trading--nothing against it in fact we go there for after work drinks alot--it just wouldn't be on my list of restaurants to try in SF. The food at PacBell (I refuse to call it SBC Park) is good, not cheap however, must have garlic fries.

Damn, I never seem to be able to type picnic right.

Beach Chalet is HORRIBLE food--there is a Safeway at Ocean Beach so a picnic can easily be done. Garlice fries at the game are a must, the line will be l o n g but they are worth the wait!!

thanks for the replies! we have a gift certificate for E&O and that is how we chose it. Also, thanks for the reviews of Beach Chalet--that was on our list! I'd rather picnic!!

If you have time, the murals on the lower floor of the Beach Chalet are worth viewing. These are not in the dining area.

Lunch suggestion for Sausilito, Spinnaker. Its on the water with great views and fairly decent food. Better than dining options on Bridgeway IMHO because you get a view from any table and it is quieter, more peaceful. Just a thought.
