Pre-Theatre Dinner Reservations

My husband and I are going to NYC next week. We are planning on going to a show either W or Th night - depending on what's available at the 1/2 price ticket place. I'm getting a little nervous after reading some messages -do we need to be making pre=theatre dinner reservations NOW even though i don't know what night we'll be going? any place you would recommend that would be a good place to dine that could work us in?

I suggest you make reservations for both nights (6-6:15 p.m.) and then cancel whichever night you don't need. Yes, make them now.
As for recommendations, what type(s) of food and what price range?

i would say up to 40 - 50 bucks per person as a maximum. italian, spanish, cuban, bistro. would you recommend a place in the non-theatre district (but one that we could access the district quickly) that would fit that description as well? if we went to a place outside the district, would we need to get reservations early as well?
thanks so much for your help!
