Posts with big responses!

I'm amazed by some legendary posts that have enormous number of responses. I have not researched which post has the most, but I noticed the following:

"What's your favorite food you discovered while traveling that you can't get at home" is now at 661+ responses! Is this the record?

I think a lot of this has to do with the OP keeping it up on the top to keep the interest or someone who is interested. i guess if it appeals to everyone like food then everyone has an opinion!

I think more interesting posts would probably result in larger number of responses if they weren't yanked. For instance, the recent thread about giving peace a chance. Unfortunately, the Bush apologists couldn't deal with reality, which ultimately lead to the thread being deleted.

Nonetheless, I'm so glad that the Republicans aren't in big trouble for the mid-term elections! Rigggggggggghht!

The "Wino-Os Only" thread in the "other topics" forum has been alive since 2003 and is very close to 1000 posts (960 now). People just keep adding to it as they taste new wines or have a question on wines. Someone tried to start a new Wino thread so that it wouldn't take so much time to load the longer one, but it didn't take off. It is a classic.

I believe there is a "What are you reading ?" thread that is up in the 900's as well.
