Postrio Resturant, SF...worth the $$$?
Checked out the menu and it looks good but fairly pricey. Would not mind spending the money as long as Wolfgang Puck is still doing his thing . Any thoughts from people who have dined there recently?

I recently moved from San Francsico to the East Coast, and must say that Postrio was a staple on my list of always-appealing places to go. To my knowledge, Wolfgang Puck does not have much to do (possibly nothing, really) with Postrio anymore, although there are excellent chefs there who carry on his signature dishes and spice things up with their own. The food is never a disappointment. It is a lovely, spacious room with a definite '80s flair (with a more casual reservation-free lounge area on the street level) that serves inventive, thoughtful dishes.

I dated a thoughtful dish in college.

Bringsback-- yes I rmember it well.

Postrio is good-but WOLFGANG PUCK no longer owns it--IF you go there, ask for a room in the main section downstairs,NOT in the SIDE ROOM which is like being in Siberia--<BR><BR>There are way more BETTER reataurants now in SFO-- I would go to 5th FLOOR-it was started by the former chef from Aqua, who has since opened up another terrific restaurant and I don't know it's name===But 5h Floor's Decor is very romantic and private-with curtains separating each set of tables===<BR><BR>Another restaurant is LuLu's--very trendy SFO BASIC with GREAT Value and a terrific BAR scene-noisy but fun''''<BR><BR>And another is BOULEVARD- again ,trendy, exp, but great!!!
