Posting a reply

Have you noticed if you post a reply to an older message, #51 or larger, after that reply the system kicks you off to #1 post, this sucks! Who want to go back to older pages to read older posts after that? The old system before implementing those fancy "preview my message" was better. How many of us preview our writing anyway?

<<Have you noticed if you post a reply to an older message, #51 or larger, after that reply the system kicks you off to #1 post?>>

I agree. They better change it back!

I never use "preview my reply". Though replies seem to be posting much more reliably now, I'm not taking a chance on "losing" a several paragraph reply.

Speaking of previewing, it there a spell check? I thought I read there was, but where is it?

FainaAgain Apr 29th, 2003 01:36 PM

Toots, spellcheck only works if you hit 3 buttons: Ctrl-Alt-Delete

Just read an advice on European board: if you post a reply to a message #51 or larger it kicks you off to #1. To go back use the "Back" key. Hopefully it will work. "All genious is simple" - who said that?

I hate it. Sometimes, I am way down in the 200-300 range and have to work my way back to where I left off.

I'll try the back button.

"All genious is simple"

Where is that spellcheck when you need it?

Patrick May 14th, 2003 11:27 AM

Yea, I was really getting annoyed being taken back to the first post every time I posted a reply. But then I discovered the use of the back button, two (or three) clicks will bring the screen right back to where it was before posting a reply.

I totally agree...I don't like this new feature...if you reply to POST 178, I would like to be returned to POSTS 150-200.

Fodors...please change this back

Betsy May 15th, 2003 11:19 AM

I don't think hitting the back button works for me. I'm going to check it after posting this and being taken back to the #1 position. Will report in on the results.

Betsy May 15th, 2003 11:25 AM

Nope, this doesn't work for some reason. Posted the message above and saw it in the #1 position. Hit back and was taken to the "post my reply" page, hit back again and was taken back to page with my message in #1 position and a blank on the right. Hit back another time and went to the Europe board, where I was before I came to the US board. Never did get back to where I started. Anyone else?
