Post your "fav" small town hidden diner

Or any town for that matter. Thought this would be fun. I hope you all agree.
We take many drives on the weekends around the state and the best part of it is when we discover that hidden treasure of a place to eat. For example: We once found a neat little Italian place in Anacortes called Bell Isola (I hope I spelled it right) and then just recently we found (for breakfast) a place called Indian Cafe at the Geaorge Hopper exit of I-5 near Mount Vernon. Their breakfast was one of the best we've ever had . C'mon gang. Play along. How many times have you been driving through a small town (or big town for that matter) and wish you knew about one of these places to try? I know we once found a place near North Bend (the name eludes me) that was fantastic. And no, it wasn't the pie place. LOL
C'mon everyone. Let's have fun with this. Nothing better on a weekend drive then finding someplace terrific to eat before heading home.

Don't know if it's still there but there was this neat little burger place called "Ikes" in Burien. Their Ike Burger was terrific.

Hi Neighbor Restaurant, Rte 11 (Main St.) Strasburg, VA. good home cooked style food, big portions, low prices. Strasburg is just off I81, south of the I66 merge.

Melanie,

I'm assuming you meant that YOUR post aplied to Washington, not that we can only list diners that exist there.

In Colorado there is a VERY small town called Mead. It is a about a mile off of I-25, between Denver and Fort Collins. In Mead there is a little place called the "Mead St. Cafe" that serves fabulous food.

Whenever I meet people who are headed that way I tell them to stop there and send me a post card (they have hysterical cards) to tell me what they think of the place. To date I have received about 15 cards--all praising the place for its wonderful home-cooked meals and pies.

If you're ever on that stretch of highway, be sure to stop--you won't be disappointed!

Davidcs

I'm confused if CA is included in this question, but for those of you driving 101 instead of through Big SUr, stop at La Fuente in Soledad, CA. It's the best Mexican around.
