Possible 6 hr layover in Indianapolis

Advice on whether I stay put in the airport or try to sneak a peek at the city? What shall I try to see?

You have a 6 hour layover in Detroit AND Indianapolis??? HHHmmmmm....

Some friends and I are in the planning stage for several different trips, dear. Do you have any useful information for us?

You could get to the Indy 500 track and museum easily enough from the airport. But don't go on race day.

There is a world-class zoo on that side of the city.

If you go in August, you could visit the State Fair.

The Art Museum / sculpture garden is nice, and Crown Hill Cemetary (where John Dillinger is buried) is near it.

But for a peek at the city, I think it may be too much trouble to fight traffic to get downtown, in that time frame.

Yes, a layover in Indy and Detroit... and she's only flying from St. Louis to Cleveland. ;-)

Thanks, cap, one of my friends just phoned me to say someone had given her the same advice about not trying to go downtown. Good to know.
