Portland - Saturday market or place to eat and walk 8/27

I'm meeting my mother in Portland this Saturday for lunch. I'll have my 9 year old daughter with me so I'm thinking maybe the Saturday market (haven't been for years) or waterfront area would be nice to eat and wander. Names of restaurants or other suggestions near local events going on would be appreciated. Thanks!

Saturday Market is great fun. A couple of places down by the waterfront would be Harborside and Newport Bay. Both have pretty decent food, but excellent views of the water.

Another consideration for great waterviews would be the Three Degrees at the Riverplace Hotel. We have only had breakfast there, but the food was good, views of the waterfront even better. Enjoy Portland! ***kim***

The Saturday Market would be perfect. A wonderful place nearby that is great for any meal is Mother's Bistro. It is only a couple short blocks from the market. There is a really nice farmer's market up at PSU on Saturday mornings, but I don't know if that would interest your daughter or not. My daughter is ok with it, but much prefers the Saturday Market.

Mother's Bistro and Saturday Market sound like the best deal so far for food and fun. Thanks for the suggestions!
