Portland Restaurants

We only have one day, we'd love to end it with a great meal...any suggestions? Thanks!

Maine, Oregon, or some other Portland? And any preference for food type?

Take a boat cruise with a meal, it will be memorable!

(I've assumed it's OR)

At the suggestion of people on this board, we tried Jake's Famous Crawfish (http://tinyurl.com/7dvjb) just the other night. It is famous for it's seafood and has been in business for 116 years! I had the stuffed salmon, which seemed to be the favorite of everyone in our party. Others had the cedar plank King salmon, halibut cheeks, halibut steak, and rockfish. All agreed the food was fabulous.

Another suggestion that we didn't have time to try, but will next time is Salty's (http://saltys.com/portland). It was recommended not only by people on this board, but by our hotel front desk.

One other recommendation was Papa Haydn's (www.papahaydn.com). The gal who recommended it said that she had the best hamburger ($14) and wonderful desserts (banana cream pie!).

I love the atmosphere, service and food at Fore Street for dinner
