Wow, everyone! Thank you! Every single thing mentioned sounds wonderful!!! I'm sure many of these things will interest my family, as well. I sincerely appreciate the suggestions! Oh, and I promise NOT to miss the Rose Gardens... I am a sucker for gardens!

I believe Andrew was referring to the Portland CITY Grill, it's a favorite for my son and his wife and their friends when in Portland.

Don't miss the Washinton Park Area, the Pittock Mansion and Chinese Classical Gardens while in Portland. For outside of the area, the Columbia River Gorge, a day trip to the wine country and a trip to the coast would be things you may enjoy. ***kim***

"#1: Have lunch with Scarlett."

That was a major highlight of my trip to Portland. And Pup was there too. ((&))

kcscheer--What activities are you looking for? In another post you mentioned being near a lake and wanting to go on ATV's.

Anyway, if you like beer at all, go to Higgins. Fantastic beer list, even the fruity Belgian ones. Really good!!

mms-tell more about Higgins! Haven't been there in a while.

Yes , Andrew meant Portland City Grill and he is so right about skipping the (mediocre) food and just go for drinks and the view.
It is a major tourist trap but at the same time, we do recommend it for a good view..

I agree with Scarlett about PCG. Drinks are fine, go for the view. The bar area can be quite the meat market, so just be warned. Nice views though.

Scarlett--We have been to Higgins before and liked it. But I really like the bar area better. Not sure why. The beer list is huge and with so much variety! I love Henry's for "normal" beers, but Higgins is great for getting more adventurous, IMO.

Yes, I meant Portland CITY Grill - sorry about that. Somehow I had "Portland Center [Apartments]" on the brain because I saw that they like so many other apartment buildings are undergoing condo conversion...

mms, one could take the phrase, "The bar area can be quite the meat market, so just be warned. Nice views though." in more than one way, you know.
