Portland-nearby vineyard

Staying in Portland and would love to go to a vineyard. We see tours, but they go to 3. We really want to go spend some time tasting at one vineyard with some good wines. We can rent a car, but would prefer a bus or other carrier. Ideas?

This is the area where we live, and we frequent the wineries here. Tours can do anything you want. One that is highly regarded is ANose For Wine. I ran into Fred and his tours at various wineries and his clients raved about him. Then a few years later I was part of a group that used him and could totally understand why everyone loved him! He will do what you want. Much better to have a driver here as our police are very watchful of drinking and driving plus we have red light cameras($260 and it goes on your insurance). So a driver is highly recommended unless one of you is a dd.

All that said, don't head for the big wineries IMO. Two of my favorites with vineyards on site are Brick House and Arbor Brook. They are close to each other in the Ribbon Ridge area of Newberg. There are over 400 wineries in this region alone, so why not try a few different ones?

How far are these wineries from Portland?

From downtown both places of these are about an hour.
