Port Angeles/Port Townsend/Sequim
 

Any ideas on what to do in the evenings in the Port Angeles/Port Townsend/Sequim area? I know there is a lot to do during the day, but what to do after dark? Thanks.

Relax!! After your days hiking & enjoying nature, you'll just want to sit back & relax, no kidding! I don't think there is too much of a nightlife in these towns anyway.

Susan, thanks for the response. I'm sure you're right about wanting to rest since we plan to keep busy during the day. Have you heard of the Dungeness Lodge B&B? I haven't found much about it online except from their own website.

I haven't heard of Dungeness, which town is it in? We stayed at the Tudor Inn (B&B) in Port Angeles, it was very nice.<BR>We loved Olympic National Park & kept busy up to sundown, be sure to eat your dinner before 9 p.m., because lots of the restaurants close down around that time.

Port Townsend has a fairly lively bar/music scene, so you ought to find something to your liking there. I am at a loss regarding PA, although it's a big enough town that you ought to be able to find something to do aside from multiplex theaters etc. Sequim is something of a retirement center, so hit the early bird special and get to bed by 9.<BR><BR>Dungeness is a small community on water's edge immediately north of Sequim. There are a couple of small shops and B&Bs, a nice historic school, a great sandspit with lighthouse (reached only by foot) where you can watch all the ships in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There's also the somewhat famous 3 Crabs restaurant, (named for the owners, not the crab named after the town) which we enjoy but others find hokey. Best coleslaw in the universe, though.<BR><BR>By the way, Sequim is pronounced "Skwim."

John and Susan, thanks for the help!<BR><BR>We plan to spend about a week in July in the area touring the coast, ONP and Victoria, so you both probably have the right idea about going to bed early so we can get up early and try to fit in everything we want to see.<BR><BR>We'll be staying at the Dungeness Lodge B&B in Sequim, which seems like it will be a convenient and scenic location. Looking forward to some kayaking and horseback sightseeing!<BR>

The other thing about Sequim and the area around Dungeness is a sudden abundance of lavender farms which, when in bloom, makes for glorious views, aromas, and shopping at roadside stands and the like. Provence it ain't, but it's nice.

Just heard about the lavender fest coming up in Sequim-sounds like something to check out.<BR><BR>Night life is a bit quiet, especially around Sequim and Port Angeles but I would reccomend trying to get to a restaurant called Bella Italia in Port Angeles. We just spent a week in the area and really enjoyed our dinners (and wine) there.<BR><BR>Enjoy Hurricane Ridge!
